Billing and trial
How a workspace gets a plan through a 7-day trial or Starter or Pro, who can change it, and how posts, sends and media count toward the caps.
A new workspace has no plan and no usage allowance. It gets one by starting a trial or choosing a plan on the Billing screen.
Who can change a plan
Only the workspace's owner. Admins and owners can see the Billing screen. Billing screens only work on a deployment where Stripe is set up; on any other deployment the Billing screen says billing is not configured.
Trial
- A trial lasts 7 days and takes a card up front. Checkout offers the trial to card payments only.
- It is capped well below a paid plan: 20 posts, 100 sends and 2 GB of media sent for the whole trial. A trial that runs into a new month does not get a second allowance.
- There is one trial per person and per card, and only on the first workspace a login owns. Every further workspace starts on a paid plan.
Plans
There are two plans, Starter at $49 a month and Pro at $79 a month. Yearly billing is $490 and $790, which is two months free, and is offered only once yearly prices are set up. Starter allows 1,500 posts a month and Pro allows 4,000. The full list of limits is on the pricing page.
Usage is counted monthly, in posts. A post counts when it leaves draft, by posting now or scheduling it. Drafts don't count. Taking a scheduled post back to a draft, or deleting it before anything is attempted, gives the count back. An automatic retry does not count again. A retry you start from the queue counts its sends and media again, because the files go out again, and it is refused when that would pass a cap. One post to several accounts counts once as a post, and once per account as a send. Starter allows 2,700 sends a month and Pro allows 6,750. Each file is also counted once for every account it goes to: Starter allows 40 GB of media sent a month and Pro allows 100 GB. Changing the accounts or files of a scheduled post gives back what it counted and counts the whole post again, in the current month and under the plan the workspace has now. The Billing screen shows this month's counts against the plan's caps, or the trial's counts during a trial. When a cap is reached, posting now and scheduling are refused with a message that names the cap; drafts can still be saved.
Uploaded pictures and video count against 50 GB of storage on Starter and 120 GB on Pro until they are deleted. A file is deleted 30 days after its post finishes, a file never added to a post after 7 days, and an upload that never finished after a day. Files on a draft or a scheduled post are kept until the post goes out or is deleted.
A paid plan is managed through the Stripe billing portal.
