Calendar, queue and compose
Write a post, send it to Bluesky now or schedule it, follow each account's result in the queue, and what the calendar shows today.
Compose and Queue work with Bluesky. The Calendar still shows sample posts only.
Compose
On Compose you can:
- type a post,
- choose which connected Bluesky accounts it goes to under Send to,
- see how the text looks on each of the eight platforms, with a character count against each limit. Text past the limit is highlighted and the count shows how many characters you are over. The previews for platforms you can't post to yet are only previews,
- save it as a draft, post it now, or schedule it.
Bluesky takes 300 characters and 3000 bytes of text, whichever limit is hit first. An emoji or a flag counts as one character. Compose shows the count under the box and a plain message if the post is too long, and the same check runs again when the post is sent. Web addresses in the text become links.
To schedule, choose Schedule, then a day from the next 14 days, an hour and a minute in 5-minute steps, in your own time zone. A scheduled post goes out within about five minutes of that time, not to the second. If scheduling is not turned on for the deployment, Schedule is switched off and Post now and drafts still work.
Post now sends the post while you wait. Compose then shows each account's result: a link to the post on Bluesky, or the error Bluesky gave.
If posting is not turned on for the deployment, Compose only previews: nothing is saved or sent, and the screen says so.
Queue
The queue lists this workspace's posts in four groups: Needs attention, Going out, Drafts and Posted. Each post shows one row per account, with its own status, a link to the post on Bluesky once it is up, or the error if it failed.
- A transient failure, such as Bluesky being busy or a rate limit, is retried automatically up to 5 tries, waiting 30 seconds, 2 minutes, 10 minutes and 30 minutes between them. A post Bluesky rejects fails at once with Bluesky's message.
- Retry sends one failed account back, or Retry all that failed sends every failed account of a post back, with a fresh set of tries. Retrying does not post twice to an account where the post already landed.
- Edit opens a draft in Compose. Back to draft takes a scheduled post out of the schedule so you can change it. Delete removes a draft or a scheduled post that has not started.
- A post that has started publishing, or finished, stays in your history and can't be changed or deleted.
- A workspace can keep up to 200 drafts.
Until a workspace has a post, the queue shows sample cards, marked as examples.
Calendar
The calendar shows one week across every brand and platform. Today it shows sample posts for three made-up brands, marked with a notice that they are examples and not yours. Your own posts are in the Queue, not on the calendar.
What counts toward your plan
A post counts toward the workspace's monthly allowance when it leaves draft, by posting now or scheduling. Taking a scheduled post back to a draft, or deleting it before anything is attempted, gives the count back. A retry does not count again. See Billing and trial.
